About Yoshinkai - Our History

Yoshinkai was founded by Master Hironobu Tsukamoto, 11th generation successor of Chen Style Taijiquan.

Tsukamoto got stomach cancer when he was in his 20s. After having an operation to remove the cancer, he was too weak to live his life normally. He had been thinking how he could recover his health perfectly. Then he decided to go to China to learn Taijiquan( Taichi). In Lupyang, he accidentaly met Grand Master Zheng Xudong and his wife Masteress Shen Zhenjun. Under their teaching and by hard training, he recovered his health and gained the Taichi power of harmonization of body.

In order to preach Taichi, Tsukamoto founded Yoshinkai in Shanghai, China. Yoshinkai has been supported by masters in Chenjiagou which is the origin of Chen Style Taichi.

Currently Yoshinkai has branches in Shanghai(China), Tokyo, Osaka, Fukushima, Yokohama( Japan), Los Angeles and UK.
